How do I create a free Salesforce developer account?

The first thing that you will require to start the order of business is to create your own salesforce developer account. It does not matter which product of salesforce you will require in business, first of all, you will have to sign up for the free Salesforce developer account.

The free salesforce developer account is not limited to the developer or related to coding. The Salesforce developer account can be used by the salesforce administrator, consultant, and anyone who wants to use the salesforce product.

Creating Free Salesforce Developer Account

Step 1: For creating the free salesforce developer account you will need to go – Or you can search on google “salesforce developer account sign up” and click the first link on the top, be sure to avoid the advertisement results on the top.

Step 2: On the developer account sign-up page you will require to fill the entries. Their entries in the form will be first name, last name, and your email address.

Step 3: Then you will be required to select the roles from the dropdown bar, it does not matter which role you select as it will not affect the edition of the free developer account that you will receive. The roles help the salesforce to segment the users so that they can later provide you with their own educational content or related information as per the role you select.

Step 4: You have to enter the name of the company with whom you are associated. Also, keep in mind to use your personal email address than your company-provided email address, so if you change your employment then you don’t lose access to your free developer account. You want to enter the email address to which you have always accessed it.

Step 5: In the last field you will be required to enter the username that will be used across every salesforce platform, that is also the reason that your username should be unique. If you have multiple salesforce accounts then it is better to be descriptive in creating a username. The user name would not have to be necessarily in the form of an email address, but if you have never had an account on any salesforce platform then you can use your email address as your username and that will work perfectly in that case. But for the people who already have accounts on the salesforce platform then adding a dot and followed by some descriptive word at the end of the username will help you to recognize what the account was all about. Some examples of the username can be “[email protected]”, “[email protected]”,etc.

Step 6: After completing the signup form, click on the check box where it is written sign me up.

If a message is shown such as “An internal server error has occurred” then you should check the mail id that you have entered in the login form, mostly it will take 10-15 minutes for the mail to arrive. It will be a confirmation email which will lead to STEP 7.

Step 7: It will take you to a landing page where you will require to confirm the email address that salesforce has emailed to the email address that you earlier entered into the signup form. Check your email account which will redirect you to a new page.

Step 8: When you have clicked on the link mentioned in the email address then it will redirect you to a new page where you will be required to enter the new password for the username. Make sure that you remember this password as it will be later required to login along with the username that you have entered into the signup form earlier. Make sure that you follow the password criteria required to create the password for the account.

Step 9: You have successfully created the free developer salesforce account which you can use to access any salesforce platform.

Step 10: To login into the salesforce developer account simply go to and then enter the username and passwords that you created.
